It's Happening!

The day has finally arrived!! Alaska and I are at the airport checking in for our flight to Asheville, NC that will eventually lead us to Franklin, NC.  From the moment we arrived at the airport it was laughs and anticipation of what was to come.  I secretly had a bet with my husband that Alaska would have the heavier pack.  Here is the results of the weigh in at the airport.

After getting through security and confirming our gate it was time to fill our bellies and celebrate the start of our trip with adult beverages!

Then it was off to the gate to board the plane.

It was a great flight and we had stops on the way.  Every where we have and will stop on the trip we are picking up postcards to send home (Alaska's Idea).  There has only been a few so far but it is really fun picking them out and putting them in the mail.

We were so excited when we got to Asheville. The airport is very clean and sprinkled with summer charm.  They have rocking chairs to wait in.  How Fun!

                                       

 

After a long night traveling and a quick rest in our rocking chairs it was time to hit the road to Franklin, NC. We met our shuttle, which was a van from the 80's.  We had to very nice young men transporting us and plush crushed blue velvet interior and curtains as our chariot to Franklin.

                     

 

We are safe, supplied, feed and rested.  Can't wait to hit the trail tomorrow!!
